About This Tool

PDF Page Organizer lets you visually rearrange, remove, or extract pages from any PDF file. Every page renders as a thumbnail the moment you drop the file, so you can see exactly what you're working with before making any changes.

All processing runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and PDF.js. Your document is never sent to a server, making this tool safe for confidential files such as contracts, medical records, government documents, and financial statements.

The drag-and-drop interface uses the same touch-friendly sensor system found in modern design apps. On mobile phones and tablets, you can press-and-hold a page thumbnail to pick it up and drag it to its new position — no separate app needed.

Extracting pages creates a brand-new PDF from only the pages you select. This is ideal when you receive a large combined report and need to pull out a specific section — for instance, extracting pages 5–9 of a 40-page contract to share with a third party.

Deleting pages removes unwanted content permanently from the output file — cover sheets, blank pages, watermarked drafts, or confidential appendices that should not be shared. The original file on your device is never modified; you always download a new, clean PDF.

How To Use

  1. 1. Drop your PDF onto the upload area, or tap Choose PDF to browse your files. Any PDF up to your device's available memory is supported.
  2. 2. Wait for the page thumbnails to render — a progress bar shows how many pages have loaded. Large PDFs with 100+ pages may take 10–15 seconds.
  3. 3. Drag any page to a new position to reorder it. The grid rearranges in real time as you drag.
  4. 4. Tap or click a page to select it — a blue checkmark appears. Hold Shift or Ctrl on desktop to select multiple pages.
  5. 5. To select all pages, click the 'All' button in the action bar. Click 'None' to deselect everything.
  6. 6. With pages selected, click Extract to download a new PDF containing only those pages.
  7. 7. Click Delete (with pages selected) to remove those pages from the document.
  8. 8. Click Save PDF to download the full reordered document with all your changes applied.
  9. 9. To start over with a different file, click the × button in the top-right corner of the workspace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my PDF uploaded to any server?

No. The PDF Page Organizer runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and the open-source PDF.js library from Mozilla. Your file is read directly from your device's memory and processed locally. You can verify this by opening your browser's Network tab — you will see zero upload requests when you drop a PDF.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no enforced limit. The only constraint is your device's available RAM. PDFs up to 200 MB work well on most modern laptops and phones. Very large PDFs (500 MB+) may cause slower thumbnail rendering on devices with less than 4 GB of RAM.

Can I extract just a few pages as a separate PDF?

Yes. Tap or click the pages you want to extract — they highlight with a blue border and checkmark. Then click Extract in the action bar. You'll download a new PDF containing only those pages, while your original file remains unchanged on your device.

How do I reorder pages on a mobile phone?

Press and hold a page thumbnail for about 150 milliseconds until it lifts — you'll feel a subtle vibration on supported phones. Then drag it to the new position and release. The organizer uses touch-aware sensors from the @dnd-kit library that are optimized for mobile browsers.

Can I delete multiple pages at once?

Yes. Tap each page you want to delete to select it (or tap 'All' to select every page), then click the red Delete button. All selected pages are removed at once. Click Save PDF afterward to download the result.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Password-protected or encrypted PDFs cannot be processed. You will see an error message if the tool detects encryption. Remove the password protection first using another tool, then use the organizer.

Will the reordered PDF look exactly like the original pages?

Yes. The tool copies pages using pdf-lib, which preserves the original page content, fonts, images, and layout exactly. It does not re-render pages — it works at the PDF structure level — so there is no quality loss.

Can I use this to split one PDF into many?

Yes, in a manual way. Select the pages you want in the first output file, click Extract, then go back and repeat for the next set of pages. For automated splitting into chunks or ranges, use the dedicated PDF Split tool which handles this in one step. For automated splitting, try thePDF Split tool

What happens if I accidentally delete the wrong pages?

Nothing is permanent until you click Save PDF or Extract. If you delete pages by mistake, click Change file to reload the original from your device and start fresh. The original file on your device is never modified.

How many pages can the organizer handle?

The organizer has been tested with PDFs up to 300 pages. Rendering thumbnails for 300 pages takes about 30 seconds on a modern laptop. Very long documents (1,000+ pages) are technically supported but thumbnail rendering will be slow.
